K9 Fitness is run in Houston, TX by dog enthusiasts Malia Messina and Kevin Jenkins. Malia is certified in pet first aid by the American Red Cross and Kevin is a skilled fabricator and production hand.
Engaged to be married in 2010, our new family includes two children, a Slider turtle and 3 dogs. Honey is a feisty border collie mix adopted from the Houston SPCA in 2006 and Kiba is a social husky mix adopted from the CAPS animal shelter in 2008. Jasper is a sweet and friendly pit bull born in 2008 from the Wellington bloodline.
We originally developed the K9 Teaser flirt pole and the K9 Treadmill for our own personal needs. We found that working full-time, attending to our kids and giving the dogs the attention and exercise they needed was a challenge. The backyard of our town home offers limited space, so our dogs were often restless and occasionally naughty! Both the K9 Teaser and dog treadmill help us wear the dogs out, even when time is short or the weather is rainy or too hot for comfort.
Because of the effectiveness of our new pet exercise tools, we proudly launched K9 Fitness in the summer of 2009 to help other dog owners in Houston and across the nation.
